Greetings, and WELCOME to Education as a Portal. My name is Kristen, and I am a graduate student at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, working towards an Interdisciplinary Master’s in New Media Training and Development. Ultimately, I’d love to be able to help educators (i.e. K-12) incorporate technology in their classrooms. No only for student use, but also as part of the curriculum.
This blog is a small step in developing the curriculum needed in order to see successful application of technology in the classrooms of our children. I aim to discuss new techniques, free technologies, news making classrooms across the world, as well as write various posts dedicated to integration of specific non-tech lessons being taught within my son’s 3rd grade or my daughter’s Kindergarten classes.
